Scope and content
An act for exempting Protestant subjects dissenting from the Church of England from the penalties of certain laws. Commonly called an 'Act for Impunity or Toleration'. Brought into the Lords house in the latter end of February 1688. Endorsed by Morrice’s amanuensis, to whom Black ascribes the copying of this act. Includes: 'Forasmuch as some ease to tender Consciences in the Exercise of Religion may be an effectuall meanes to Unite their Majesties Protestant Subjects in interest and affection’.
