Application to a reverend divine (Baxter?) on the point of conscience, suggested by Mr [Thomas] Baldwin, about leaving his own people, when invited to become the minister of Blackfriars Parish. See also a document signed by N. Gouge and another in Ms ‘Letters’ vol. v, f 80.‘Reverend Sir. Mr Baldwin having preached twice the last Lords day; and once the Lords day before with us, and we having had discourse with him at severall times, have received that full satisfaction of his ministeriall abilities and humble and pious carriage, that it is the earnest desire of all the pious and well affected in our Parish, that he should be our Minister;’ f 387r: ‘Blackfr.
